Bring on the Sunshine!

Thursday, April 14, 2022

Oh my! We have had a wintry weather week here in the Pacific Northwest of Oregon! Cold temperatures, wind, rain, and yes, snow! Very unprecedented for us! This photo was taken from inside Studio 1.15 yesterday before we headed out for our morning walk:

It was very short lived and no accumulation and no icy roads. Just so very wet! My quick card for the current Retro Rubber Challenge was inspired by snow as I longed for sunshine!

And here is the challenge:

Card Details:

  • A2 card base in Daffodil Delight
  • Coastal Cabana DSP 4" x 4" cut on the diagonal; adhere to each side per the sketch
  • Stampin' Up! A Good Day stamp set (retired 2019) I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Stampin' Write markers in Daffodil Delight and Pool Party to color image.
  • Punch image using a 1-3/8" circle punch
  • Adhere gold thread to back of image. Add dimensional and adhere to card base.
  • Add 3 gems. I used some retired ones. I'm not sure what color they are...
I hope the sun is shining on you today!
Happy Stamping!

Nuts About You!

 Monday, April 4, 2022

Today's card is for the SUO Challenge 298 with the theme of animals or critters. This card idea actually came from a make-n-take my upline, Teresa Harper at KnT Designs did at our monthly crop. The project was a box.

Is this just the cutest? I made a dozen of them and changed the colors for our spring break trip. I used them as table favors on one of the nights I cooked dinner. Everyone loved them! The box fits a Nutty Buddy! How fun is that! So, anyway, back to my card...I had some supplies left over and made a birthday card!

Card Details:

  • Early Espresso card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" score at 4-1/4"
  • In Good Taste DSP 2" x 5-1/2" adhere to center of card base
  • Heart and Home Doilies adhere to center of DSP
  • Balmy Blue cut with Hippo and Friends die; emboss with Tasteful Textile EF that has been inked with Misty Moonlight; adhere to doily
  • Using the Heart Punch Pack punch a scalloped heart from Basic White and a regular heart from Real Red. Emboss the Real Red heart with the Hive EF. Adhere together and adhere to Balmy Blue piece.
  • Using the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set stamp the squirrel outline in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used Smoky Slate for the squirrel color. The acorn top is Cinnamon Cider and the acorn is Crumb Cake. This stamp set is a two step stamp and it works great to fill in your image!
  • Cut a branch from the Iconic dies in Early Espressro. Adhere to the heart.
  • Add dimensionals to the squirrel and adhere so he is sitting on the branch.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Real Red. I used a retired banner die to cut it out but you could snip the ends.
  • Adhere 3 Rhinestones to complete the card.
Happy Stamping!
