Thankful Heart

 Friday, October 28, 2022

Today's card features that cute little pickup truck (again!) from the Harvest Haul stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs.

I am entering it the nick of time over at the Paper Players this week!

What's funny is I had a different card made and ready to post. I had just set it aside to photograph this morning when the lighting was better. Well, in the meantime I filled that card out and and posted it to the mail! HA! Too funny. Not really because then I had to make another card because I really wanted to do this challenge...anyways, it was a fun card to make. I love coloring this truck and the papers, also from Newton's Nook Designs are just too cute!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Day!

 Friday, October 21, 2022

Today's card is  quick, cute and easy peasy!

I am entering it over at the Retro Rubber Challenge #193 blog in the nick of time!

I used Stampin' Up!'s Picnic Parade stamp set (2010). Such a sweet little set. The bunny's overalls inspired me along with this:

The other day when I had Paisley I dressed her in a pair of overalls from when our boys were babies! My MIL had embroidered "Grauer Power" on them. So cute! Paisley was either trying to blow kisses or bubbles! Too funny!

Harvest Haul

 Thursday, October 20, 2022

Today's card features the sweet set, Harvest Haul, from Newton's Nook Designs.

I love all things related to little pickup trucks and harvest! I am entering this card in this week's Paper Players Challenge PP613:

I always over analyze my clean-and-simple designs. I think everyone's definition varies. Anyways, here is the inside of the card:

We've had extended summer weather all through this fall so far. Our leaves are still very green. We went to the pumpkin patch with our granddaughter and her parents and it was so hot! Here's a pic of "Poppy and Gigi" (The Farmer and I) with our sweet Paisley:

Weekly Wanderings

 Sunday, September 25, 2022

Happy Sunday! Fall has arrived here in the Willamette Valley and it is beautiful! Cool mornings and warm, occasionally hot, afternoons. Now, if we could just get some rain to turn everything green again and settle the dust!

Our weekly wanderings have been limited. Since we started watching our granddaughter two days a week about a month ago now, we kind of got out of our schedule. And we might be a little exhausted! LOL! A baby is a lot of work! But oh! so great! And the Farmer has been working...digging in fields to repair drainage tile, cutting wood, etc. He is so happy when he works like this! LOL!

So, here are a few pics of Sweet P.

She comes fairly early in the mornings and joins us on our morning walk with our dog, Jake.

She was helping Gigi make muffins! Her hair was a fright this day. 😅

She found Poppy on the backhoe and checked it out! I sent this picture to her mama and can only imagine what she was thinking! The backhoe was not running, so no loud noises and all was safe! For us putting our children on the equipment was always a part of our life. Sweet P was undaunted and wanted to hang on to the steering wheel!

I could go on and on but I think that is good for now. I don't want to be too much! LOL!

Happy Stamping, my friends!

Leaves

 Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Today's card is just in time for the start of fall!

The Paper Players have a CAS challenge this week #PP609:

For my card I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a piece of the Abigail Rose DSP and adhere it to my Basic White card base. I cut the leaves from Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Merry Merlot cardstock using a leaf die from Gathered Leaves dies (retired). Each leaf was popped up on a dimensional. The sentiment from Etched in Nature (retired) is stamped in Basic Gray, cut with a stitched rectangle die and popped up with dimensionals. I added a few matte decorative dots (retired) in Old Olive to finish the card. That's it! Happy fall, ya' all!

More Pumpkins!

 Tuesday, September 20, 2022

It is definitely pumpkin season around here! And pumpkin spice everything! I'm a fan! Today's card is for the Retro Rubber Challenge #RRCB191.

And here is my card:

I used Stampin' Up!'s Gather Together (retired 2020) for the pumpkins. I stamped them in Memento Black ink and colored them with SU! Blends in Pumpkin Pie. The sentiment and the speckles are from SU!'s Etched in Nature (2021).

Pumpkins

Monday, September 19, 2022

Today's card features Newton's Nook Autumn Oval for the Inky Paws Challenge #182 Color Challenge.

Orange, green, black, and cream are the colors and this is my card:

I used a black card base and then layered my ovals using the orange gingham from Newton's Nook Autumn 6 x 6 paper pad, then a scalloped oval in black and the autumn oval of pumpkins. I colored the pumpkins with SU! Blends in Pumpkin Pie and Pale Papaya and the leaves in various shades of green.

One more Wonderful World!

 Wednesday, August 24, 2022

So I have two more cards I made using the Wonderful World DSP...for now! LOL!

I used the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. I love it! I hope you can see it. It is very pretty and goes so nicely with this DSP.

I stamped my sentiment in the Cloud punch for this second card. I kind of like using that punch for sentiments.  Anyways, I got quite a few birthday cards made using this paper. Yea!

It's a Wonderful World!

 Monday, August 22, 2022

Today's card uses the Sale-a-bration DSP Wonderful World and the sketch from Seize the Birthday #245.

I love this DSP and made several different cards using just the paper. There is also a Wonderful World stamp set that I am looking forward to inking up and creating with.

Card Details:
  • A2 card base in Thick Basic White
  • 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" DSP adhere to card base
  • 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" Pear Pizzazz embossed with Subtle EF (retired); adhere to card base
  • 1" x 4-1/4" DSP; adhere to card base
  • Cut the second smallest stitched square from the Stylish Shapes dies in Pear Pizzazz
  • From the DSP cut the flower with the smallest square from the same set. Adhere together. Adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp sentiment from Sending Smiles in Rich Razzleberry ink onto a piece of Basic White. Cut using the banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies.
  • Add a few gems to complete the card.

We didn't wander too much this past week but I do have a few photos of our sweet Paisley!

Weekly Wanderings

 Sunday, August 14, 2022

It's been a week of wandering. The Farmer has always wanted to see the wheat harvest on the Palouse in Eastern Washington...so now that he is retired we went!

We stayed at a wonderful Airbnb near Waitsburg, Washington. Stella's Homestead is just a delightful little oasis. We stayed in the "La Casita". The tiny home!

We saw a lot of farming and just beautiful hills of grain. The pictures don't do it justice.

We visited Palouse Falls:

And one of my favorite things was sitting in the South Coppei Creek reading a good book! LOL!

The hardest thing about a vacation is coming home and getting back in the groove of things!

Weekly Wanderings

 Monday, August 8, 2022

I'm a day late posting on my weekly wanderings! Ha! Oh well!

Overall, it was a rather quiet week. I did work on my scrapbook! I did January - May of a year which is good for me. It was rather hard NOT to stamp and make cards. LOL!

The Farmer and I didn't wander too far this week. We went and picked blueberries at a nearby farm.

Honestly, the Farmer is NOT a good blueberry picker! So funny! He wandered around looking for what I do not know...bigger blueberries??? He managed to get a few picked while I picked what I wanted.

There have been some beautiful sunrises:

And Sunday, August 7, marked the four year anniversary since my brother died. I'll never like it but I'm learning to embrace it. I know I did the best I could for him in a not so good situation. There is joy and beauty in this journey of life if I opened my eyes and heart to see it and receive it!

What would a week be without a picture of sweet Paisley! She fills our hearts to overflowing with joy!

Weekly Wanderings

 Sunday, July 31, 2022

Well, it has been an extremely hot week here in Oregon where we live. So thankful for our air conditioning!

Today I am remembering my father-in-law, Glen, who died eight years ago today at the age of 93. I could tell many stories about him...he was something else. He is certainly missed.

The Farmer and I escaped the heat one afternoon by going to see the movie, "Where the Crawdads Sing". It was very good. I had read the book; the Farmer had not. We both gave the movie a "9" (10 being the best!) The movie was as good as the book!

We helped our friend, Steve, on his food truck one hot afternoon! It was a fundraiser for the basketball team our son, Steven, coaches. What an experience. It was very interesting, very hot, and we were busy! We had fun and are much more appreciative of those who do this for a living!

Steven is in the window if you look closely!

The Farmer and Steve doing the food prep.

I took orders and the money. Still smiling after our shift!

So, the next couple weeks I probably won't be blogging as much. I have to scrapbook!!! And there isn't much to share with my scrapbooking. I'm a simple scrapper. I have a couple years to do and then I need to decide what I want to do...continue scrapping or what??? Any ideas? I'm open to suggestions.

And it wouldn't be a week without a picture of sweet Paisley! Blowing those little bubbles! ❤

Happy Stamping, my friends!

Flying Home Again

 Thursday, July 28, 2022

Studio 1.15 has gone to the birds this week! I had to use another bird image from Flying Home for today's card:

And I'm using LeAnne's sketch this week over at the Paper Players Challenge #601:

My card base is Petal Pink. I'm using the Rings of Love DSP ❤ and a bright Parakeet Party banner.  I added a couple loops of the Parakeet Party baker's twine and a few decorative dots in the same color to finish the card.  My image was colored with Stampin' Blends.

Flying Home

 Wednesday, July 27, 2022

I was determined to play along at the Retro Rubber Challenge so I grabbed another stamp set, Stampin' Up!'s Flying Home, and made another card today similar to yesterday's! This stamp set retired in 2018! So I'm good with it! LOL! The sentiment is from SU!'s Vintage Vogue retired  2012. It's such a classic set.

The Retro Rubber Challenge #187 is a Tic Tac Toe!

I basically used everything except washi tape and copper.

There's still time to ink up some of those "retro" stamps and play along!

Free as a Bird

 Tuesday, July 26, 2022

I was going to enter my card over at the Retro Rubber Challenge and after I got it finished I checked the date of the stamp set...it is on my retired shelf but it just retired in May so technically it doesn't qualify. Oh well! I enjoyed making it!

I used the current Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Rings of Love DSP. I love this paper! I ran it through a striped embossing folder. The DSP kind of "tore" a bit from the EF but I like it. It gives it a distressed look.  I used the Free as a Bird stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I love the sweet birds in this set. I colored the bird with Stampin' Blends. I used Real Red ribbon and I like how it made the Poppy Parade color in the DSP pop!

Anyway, that's my card for today.

Happy Stamping!

Celebrate Summer!

 Monday, July 25, 2022

Happy Monday! We are in for a hot week here the the Pacific Northwest! Today's card was inspired by summer memories...of wearing flip flops. In my childhood they were not called flip flops though! Does anyone know what we called them???

The sketch was the inspiration of this week's Freshly Made Sketches 545:

Card Details:

  • A2 card base in Melon Mambo
  • Stampin' Up!'s Hues of Happiness DSP cut with the Stitched Rectangles dies
  • Flip Flop stamp from Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Summer and coordinating dies. I colored them with the SU! Blends and adhered them with dimensionals.
  • Sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Simply Summer Sentiments
  • I added three rhinestone gems in a navy blue color
So, when I was a child flip flops were called "thongs". Yep. And we wore them all the time! We camped a lot and that is what my sister, brother, cousins and I wore the entire time we were at the lake. So many good, good memories of our camping trips!

I hope all of you are making some great summer memories today!

Weekly Wanderings

 Sunday, July 24, 2022

Overall, it has been a rather quiet week here on the farm.

Last Sunday we managed to get all our children together in one place! Such a blessing!

Steven, McKenzie, Aunt Katie holding Paisley, and Uncle Taylor! ❤❤❤❤

The Farmer and I wandered to the Columbia County Fair. He has always worked during the summer so going to a fair was never something he did. So, we went to the fair because we could! I got a few photos of some beautiful quilts that caught my eye!

Wouldn't this be the neatest wall hanging for the month of October?!

Anything with a dog is a yes in my book! And this sweet  quilt! Yes, please!

And this is for my gnome loving friends. Is this just amazing or what?! Some people are so talented!

One more picture of our sweet Paisley!

Happy Stamping, my friends!
