GDP242 Pink Sails

Saturday, May 30, 2020

Today's card was made with the Global Design Project #242 Sketch Challenge in mind.

 And here is my card:

I went with pink sailboats from the Sailing Home bundle! I used SU!'s Blends in Lovely Lipstick, Pink Pirouette (retired), and Pool Party. I embossed the black panel with the Old World Paper embossing folder, available June 3 from the new SU! catalog! The DSP is from Pop of Pink (retired). I finished it off with a few sequins.

Here's a Jake smile for your weekend!

Colorful Sails!

Friday, May 29, 2020

Finally! I have been wanting to stamp some colorful sailboats for ever so long! I just recently got this Stampin' Up! bundle,  Sailing Home. All I have seen are blue and brown sailboats. It was delighful to  use the Fab Friday color challenge for this card!

My card base is Melon Mambo. I used Pineapple Punch DSP layered onto black cardstock. I then stamp a sailboat in each of the bright and cheery colors. My sentiment is stamped in Melon Mambo. I added few sequins to finish it. I was thinking about how on a bright and sunny day the water glistens and sparkles...thus the sequins! Lol! I am looking forward to stamping many more bright sailboats!

Meanwhile, the Farmer was able to get my mom's water pump set up to pump water from the well for her garden and yard!

And I can't resist sharing a dog picture...our furry boy, Jake, and my mom's dog, Lucy... she's the little one!

Smile!

Thursday, May 28, 2020

Today's card is inspired by the Paper Players sketch:

and the Retro Rubber Challenge.  I chose the die cut/birthday/bright colors row.

RRCB 135

Here is my card:

My card base is Lovely Lipstick. I die cut the Coastal Cabana DSP and the layer of white from the Stitched Rectangles dies. The tag I stamped my sentiment on is die cut from the Stitched so Sweetly dies. My only stamping, "Smile!" is from one of my favorite retired stamp sets, "Picnic Parade".  A hostess set  Stampin' Up! had in 2010.

And because I can never make one card...here is another one:

Just slightly different turned to portrait.

My nieces and I planted a few things in my mom's garden. Dad was the gardener so this year is a bit different. Mom is going to try a few things and we will help her with it.

It was a beautiful day!

#sharesunshine

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Last week Stampin' Up! had their annual day of service event for their employees. Since it was a virtual event demonstrators and our customers were encouraged to participate also. We were to make cards using the Share Sunshine PDF of sentiments. I had fun making these cards:

I used the Follow Your Art DSP and the Follow Your Art embellishment kit along with a few punches and dies. So fun! This is just a few that I made. I did sneak in a few other sentiments, too! Either way they will be fun cards to send to friends.

I was able to take my mom to the cemetery where some of her family is buried. My niece and her daughter came too. We cleaned the headstones and left some fun spinners to decorate their graves.

Hope you can enjoy some stamping today!
Blessings,
Tracy

Ride with Me!

 Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Excuse me, but what happened to last week?!  Whosh! It came and went.

One thing that happened...this tree, well, it is just part of a tree, fell in my Mom's backyard. It actually fell into the neighbor's field.

I told Mom, "Thank God for the Farmer and his backhoe!"

Seriously, this guy, the Farmer, my husband, lifesaver! And he loved doing it! What a blessing! He got it cleaned up in no time with no problem! This is just a snippet into my life on the farm.

I did spend some time in Studio 1.15 and have some fun things to share with you this week!

It is a happy day when the new Stampin' Up! catalog arrives! I love the new catalog and there are many things on my wish list. But, it is also sad to say goodbye to some bundles. The Ride with Me stamp set and Truck Ride dies are retiring. I recently made some birthday cards with this set.

I colored the truck with the Smoky Slate blends and fussy cut it out. (No die for it!) I used a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge (long retired) for the "road".  And it wouldn't be complete with out the 3D project:

How cute is this little guy! Love! I filled the back with two Hershey nuggets! This is one bundle that I will keep in my stash. I think it is a classic!

Tracy

You are Essential!

 Monday, May 18, 2020

Happy Monday! I made a few quick and easy cards over the weekend using the Share Sunshine sentiments. Stampin' Up! is offering these as a PDF for $12 with 100% of the proceeds going to COVID-19 efforts.

I know things are beginning to open back up again but please be careful out there!
I got together with a friend for a walk. Look at this view:

It was a gorgeous day and a beautiful walk. This is actually in our neighboring town at their school. They have a cross country course loop that is open and it is just wonderful! Those clouds are just so neat looking!

And of course it wouldn't be a walk without our dog, Jake! He got to go to the groomer's last week and is looking so pretty! He loves all his walks!

Tracy

Spread Joy

Fab Friday 189

Today's card is a quick and simple card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge:

And here is the sketch:

My card base is Blackberry Bliss. I cut a stitched rectangle from the retired Botanical Butterfly DSP. The sentiment is from SU!'s Share Sunshine. I used the Highland Heather organza ribbon for a wee little bow.

I hope you can spread some joy wherever you are!

Tracy

Spring Flowers

Thursday, May 14, 2020

Today's card is a color challenge from the Paper Players.

And here is my card:

I used Melon Mambo for the card base, the flower and sentiment. The stem and leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green and I used Pool Party for the flower center and colored the butterfly with the dark Pool Party Blend marker.

I can never just make one card! This one I changed up a bit and added the black and white gingham layer. I had to bling up the butterfly with a few pearls!

I also am entering the Retro Rubber challenge:

RRCB 134

I used SU!'s Watercolor Garden from 2000! I love this stamp set! I came by this set from a dear friend, Krista, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2016.  Krista was a Stampin' Up demonstrator and is really the one responsible for my love of all things SU!  Last summer I helped her family clean out some of her studio. I am now trying to sell and pass on a whole lot of her stamp sets. It is always bittersweet when I use one of her stamp sets. I sure do miss her!

Tracy

Hello, Baby!

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

I was so excited to be able to make a couple baby cards! Unfortunately, I only got a photo of one of them. A family from our church had a sweet baby boy and my dear friend became a grandma for the first time to a sweet baby boy! So exciting! My only sadness is I can't hold them! That just seems cruel! Oh! this COVID-19! Grrr!

I used SU's Time for Tags and a little DSP in Seaside Spray and Blueberry Bushel. I colored the giraffe with Blends. I used a few Faceted Dots in Seaside Spray and a little silver metallic thread for embellishments.

If you have a baby in your life, enjoy! They grow so quickly. And give them a hug for me!

Blessings,
Tracy

Mother's Day

Monday, May 11, 2020

I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day. I made a couple cards for a friend to give to her mom and grandma.

I colored the flowers with SU!'s blends in Pineapple Punch, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight. I embossed the sentiment from Picture Perfect with gold embossing powder. I mounted the DSP and the sentiment onto gold foil paper.

I love my Daisy Lane bundle! I stamped the daisies in Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy then punched them out with the medium punch.  The scallop rectangle is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I am really liking those dies! The sentiment is from A Big Thank You which sadly is retiring. I have enjoyed that stamp set.

The highlight of my weekend was Friday night! The boys and their girlfriends came over for dinner! Steven and his girlfriend made dinner for us. Taylor and his girlfriend brought dessert. Everything was delicious. We had a good visit and played a game.

I received this beautiful bouquet!

I am blessed to have these two call me mom!

Tracy

Lots of birthday cards!

Friday, May 8, 2020

Our ladies ministry, affectionately known as the Church Chix, sends birthday cards to adults who are developmentally delayed living in group homes. We needed a lot of guy cards recently so I spent one rainy day in my studio making some really simple and quick cards. I was able to use up some retired DSP!

I think I ended up with close to 40 cards completed! Yea! It was fun!

Tracy

Heartfelt Friend

Wednesday, May 6, 2020

I wanted to send one final card to my Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) ladies. I enjoyed making these heart cards using up the 2018-2020 In Color DSP.  I used Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushel as card bases.

I used a retired heart embossing folder on half of them.

And the Ornate Layers dies for the other half

I added some metallic thread and some little gems to finish them.

Blessings,
Tracy

#keepstamping

This week's #keepstamping color challenge is: Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, So Saffron and Seaside Spray. I found it to be a challenge. This isn't a color combo I would be drawn to but I took the challenge and this is what I came up with:

I used some old SU! DSP in Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry. I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the scalloped rectangles! Love those dies! I used the Jar of Love stamp set to stamp the flowers in So Saffron (stamped off) and Crushed Curry and Seaside Spray.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays.

I hope you will take the #keepstamping color challenge this week!

The Farmer and I ventured out to walk around this pond in the neighboring town yesterday morning.

There were a lot of people fishing there but all were practicing social distancing and being respectful! I think we all need a change in scenery!

Tracy

Color Challenge #keepstamping

This week I took the color challenge my BFF and SU! upline, Teresa, at KNT Designs,  shared with us. Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape and Old Olive were the colors. You really can't go wrong with those colors! All favorites of mine! And here is my creation:

I was going through my stamp sets trying to downsize a bit...we all know how hard that is to do! Well, SU!'s Jar of Love caught my eye. I love that set! So, I created this card with all those lovely flowers. Perfect to share on this May 1.   I remember as a youngster on May 1, picking whatever flowers we could find, placing them on the neighbor's porch, ringing the doorbell and running off before they answered! And then watching their surprise at finding a bouquet for them! Did anyone else do that??? So fun! It was May Day, of course!

I hope this finds you all happy, healthy and finding joy in each day!

Blessings,
Tracy
