Throwback Thursday

Thursday, October 28, 2021

I really need to have a 'Throwback Thursday' each week and use some of my "retired stamps".  Retired stamps just means they are no longer for sale in the current Stampin' Up! catalog. I don't like to call them retired. They are a part of my collection! They are classic and keepers!

Today's project is a card I made with three challenges in mind.

I used the sketch from this week's Paper Players challenge #564:

The Retro Rubber Challenge #170 is the theme Fallin' for Autumn:

:

And the Global Design Project #315 is a theme challenge of Hey, Pumpkin:

Card Details:

  • Very Vanilla card base 4-1/4" x 11" score at 5-1/2"
  • Farmer's Market DSP (retired) 4" x 5-1/4"; woodgrain pieces cut with Stitched Rectangle dies adhere them to the gingham DSP; wrap a piece of ribbon around this. I used some retired ribbon that I can't remember the name of. Adhere to card base.
  • Stamp image from the Stampin' Up! At Home with You stamp set (retired 2019); color using Stampin' Up! Blends in Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light and Dark Pale Papaya; Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Light Blackberry Bliss; Light Old Olive and Dark So Saffron. Cut out using a stitched circle die and layer onto a scallop circle cut from the DSP.  Add a few loops of Very Vanilla baker's twine to the back. Adhere to card base with dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Blackberry Bliss. Use a banner die to cut it out and layer onto another banner die cut from the DSP. Adhere to card with mini dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed this project and will try out one of the challenges this week!

Happy Stamping!

A (Cute) Gift Card Holder

 Tuesday, October 26, 2021

This morning on my Facebook Live, 'Tuesday at 10 with Tracy for a Coffee and a Card' I showed how to make these cute gift card holders. You can watch the replay here.

Card Details:

  • Cardstock:  3" x 9-3/4"; score at 2-1/4" and 6-1/2".  I used Misty Moonlight and Mint Macaron cardstock
  • DSP: 2-3/4" x 9-1/2"; adhere to cardstock.  I used Whimsy and Wonder Specialty DSP
  • Gently rescore over the score lines; fold and burnish on the score lines.
  • Tie a piece of ribbon or baker's twine around the card
  • Stamp the sentiment. I used Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White cardstock and cut out with the Warm Wraps dies. Adhere to a stitched circle from the die set. Using baker's twine or the Simply Elegant Trim make a few loops and adhere to back of stitched circle. Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed this project and will give it a try!

Having Some Fun!

 Tuesday, October 19, 2021

Today's project is the same box/bag I made here.

I switched this one up and used the Pattern Party DSP and didn't clip it shut with the mini clothespins. The sentiment is from the Brew Some Fun stamp set and cut out with the Warm Wraps dies. I filled the bag with a couple tea bags and a chocolate!

It's our last full day at Country Crop, our annual fall crafting retreat. I'm sure it will be another great day!

You make me smile!

 Monday, October 18, 2021

Today's project is a cute little chapstick box I made for my crafing retreat friends.

This is another project a bit out of my comfort zone but got easier as I made several. Again, I CASE'd fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator, Julie DeMatteo's design. You can check out her video and directions here.

On a foggy morning walk I discovered some beautiful cobwebs. Here's one of them:

Happy Monday and Happy Stamping!

Country Crop: A Crafting Retreat!

Sunday, October 17, 2021

I made this lipstick pen holders for my crafting friends.

Making these were a bit out of my comfort zone but once I made a couple I got into the flow of things and made ALOT more! I CASE'd fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Julie Dimatteo's, version. I recommend following her directions and video here.

Each fall for the past 20+ years I have been attending a craft retreat. At times there have been a dozen ladies attending. We've stayed at different beach houses.  This year we are in the country and there are six of us here.

The mornings have been foggy:

And the afternoons beautiful:

Last night was our annual Fish Taco dinner. Delicious!

Today's agenda: more crafting!

Happy Stamping, my friends!

A "Purr-fect" Halloween Box!

Saturday, October 16, 2021

Today's little boxes were made especially for the ladies I am spending the next few days with at a crafting retreat. The box hold a Hostess cupcake.

This design was the inspiration I used to make the card I shared on Wednesday. You can see that card here.

I shared how to make the box on a FB Live recently. You can watch the replay here.

This is such a great sized box. I hope you will give it a try!

Cookies!

 Thursday, October 14, 2021

I had to make this card just for fun using the Nothing's Better Than stamp set and the Love You More Than dies.

I've seen different ones on Pinterest and went with a very simple and quick design. I love cookies maybe as much as Cookie Monster so if I love you more than cookies...well, I love you a lot! LOL!

Card Details:
  • A2 card base in Early Espresso
  • Cut the words in Real Red
  • Face is Pacific Point using a scalloped Layering Circle die
  • 1" circle punch for the white eyes and 1/2" circle punch for the black part
  • Cut half a circle in Basic Black for the mouth
  • Stamp the cookies onto Basic White; outline in Early Espresso and fill with Crumb Cake full strength or stamped off once.
  • Adhere everything to your card base and you have a cute and quick card to give to anyone you love!
So with the Farmer retired we are trying to "wander" at least one day each week. This week we found ourselves in a corn maze in Corvallis. The Farmer's cousin and family have an amazing corn maze and pumpkin patch there. It rained on us but it didn't dampen the experience!

Happy Stamping, my friends! Blessings to you where ever you may wander today...maybe to your crafing space!

Purr-fect!

 Wednesday, October 13, 2021

Today's card uses the Clever Cats stamp set.

My inspiration for this card came while working on another project (check back Saturday to see it!) and this week's Paper Players color challenge:

I used a whole lot of Gorgeous Grape with these colors! LOL!

Card Details:

  • A2 card base in Pumpkin Pie
  • Brights DSP 4" x 5-1/4"; wrap a piece of Gorgeous Grape Sheer ribbon around and adhere to card base. I LOVE this ribbon! Also, make a bow to adhere to the side.
  • Using the (sadly) retired Layering Squares dies cut (2) scalloped squares in Pumpkin Pie
  • Cut a square from the Brights DSP in Gorgeous Grape
  • Cut a square from Basic white
  • Stamp the outline of the pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie; fill in with Pale Papaya
  • Stamp the kitty face in Early Espresso
  • Stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape
  • Add 3 Champagne Rhinestones
I hope you will consider making a card with these colors and playing along at the Paper Players challenge this week. I look forward to seeing what you create!

Count on Me

 Saturday, October 9, 2021

Well, looking back it doesn't look like you can count on me! It's been a couple weeks since I blogged! Our trip to the National Parks in Utah was wonderful but I got behind for sure! Whether I am active or quiet on social media know that I am also here for you as a friend and a fellow stamper!

I have been wanting to ink up and color some of these cute critters from the Count on Me stamp set. My wonderful upline, Teresa Harper, gave it to me! I did three quick and cute cards today.

Card Details:

  • A2 Card bases in Basic Black, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay
  • 4" x 5-1/4" Pattern Party DSP. If I had to have just one pack of DSP from the catalog it would be this pack! I'm so thankful that is NOT the case!😅
  • I used the Hippo and Friends dies for the labels. I stamped the critters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the smallest label and colored with Stampin' Blends.
  • The kiwi bird has a strip of Pale Papaya cardstock embossed with the Merry Melody Embossing folder.
  • The koala bears have a label die from the Rainbow Glimmer paper
  • I added Holiday Rhinestones to each card for some bling.
I hope you all are enjoying this weekend!
