A Merry Mouse

 Monday, December 11, 2023

Today's card is for the Retro Rubber Challenge 221 where it is a photo inspiration challenge:

Here is my card:

I was inspired by the page of music. I used Stampin' Up!'s Merry Melody embossing folder on Real Red cardstock which I then layered on a piece of Basic White. The adorable mouse is from SU!'s Merry Mice stamp set...not sure what year it is...I colored the cute critter with Stampin' Blends.

These two little loves, my granddaughters, have been keeping my life full. The girls are cousins not sisters!

Paisley is 18 months.

Autumn is 9 months.

Happy Stamping!

Relax.Read.Repeat

 Wednesday, August 2, 2023

Today's card is for several challenges! My crafting time is limited this summer so I was glad I could combine a few challenges with one card!

Newton's Nook Designs has a color challenge:

I used Newton's Book Club stamps and dies from NND.

Seize the Birthday #266 is be inspired by a book.

I absolutely loved this challenge idea! I was inspired by the book At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon.  I love the whole series! Father Tim's lovely neighbor, Cynthia Coppersmith, is a writer of children's books. The main character of her books is her cat, Violet! Violet is not always as docile as this kitty on my card though! The book will have you laughing, crying and gleaning little gems of wisdom throughout.

And just so you know this is a birthday card. Here's the inside:

The sentiment is from NND's Birthday Oval and the kitty is another one from Newton's Book Club.

The last challenge I am entering this card in is the Paper Players:

I covered the diagonal:  blue, diecuts and embossing.

Today the Farmer and I packed a lunch, our chairs and a book and went out to the beach at Neskowin, Oregon.

That's Proposal Rock and the ocean and the sky just blend into one another!  It was an absolutely beautiful day!

Hi Friend!

 Wednesday, July 26, 2023

Today's card has been sitting on my desk for a week or so. We were just looking at each other. LOL! I wanted to make more using this design but wasn't sure...

So, I decided to use it for the SUO Challenge this week.

I truly do not have a favorite color combo! It varies with whatever project I'm working on. For this card I used Coastal Cabana for the card base, black and white is always a fav, and the flowers are Berry Burst with a touch of Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist for the greenery. I used the now retired but oh, so awesome Pierced Blooms dies. The banner die is from the Nested Essentials dies.

I'm going to write a little note to a friend and send this card along its way!

Bingo

Wednesday, July 26, 2023

Today's card is kind of special. A friend's grandmother died recently. Her grandma got the name 'Grandma Bingo' because she loved to play Bingo! Soooo, I borrowed a stamp set from a friend that had a Bingo card in it and made this card:

Not a traditional sympathy card but I think she'll love it! I hope she'll always remember the good times with Grandma Bingo! So sweet.

I am entering this card in this week's Paper Player's Challenge. It is a sketch challenge:

The stamp set is from My Creative Time called Game Night.

I used SU!'s Delightfully Eclectic DSP on a Night of Navy card base. I used Bubble Bath to cut the circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. I stamped those Bingo cards in Crushed Curry and Night of Navy.

Happy Stamping!

Welcome

 Monday, July 24, 2023

Today's card is one I made for our oldest son, Steven, and his family. They just moved into a new-to-them house!

I am also entering it in the Retro Rubber Challenge #211 where it is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

My card uses the diagonal twine, diecut and pens.  I used Stampin' Up!'s At Home with You stamp set and coordinating dies which retired in 2019. I colored with my SU! Blends and Markers. I love the new SU! Markers! I added the little twine bow to the wreath.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! It has been one busy summer around here and the Farmer is retired! Go figure! I will have to do a life update soon.

Happy Stamping!

Hello!

 Monday, June 5, 2023

Saturday was our monthly crafting day. A bunch of us ladies get together and just craft the day away! I made these cute boxes to share with everyone:

Super fun to make using the Cornerstone dies. I got the inspiration from Julie Gilson at Stampin' Gala. You can see her project here.

I made my using Lemon Lolly and the colors in the Glorious Gingham DSP: Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst, Pecan Pie, Blueberry Bushel, and Lemon Lime Twist. The daisies are from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and the sentiment is from Go To Greetings.

Happy Stamping!

Just for You

 Friday, June 2, 2023

It's Fri-yay! A busy day here! I've got some cleaning/catching up to do and some prep work for tomorrow's crafting day. We're expecting 13 ladies for some crafting fun!

Today's card was an happy oops! I was prepping for one sketch and realized I had cut into a perfectly good, already cut and scored black card base. So, I switched gears and made it into a little fun fold card for a gentleman at our church.

And I'm entering it over at Make My Monday #201 Challenge where the theme is masculine.

I used some more of the Farmer's Market DSP (retired, it's probably historic! I don't know how old it is or do they call it retro...) I used one of the dies from the new Radiating Dies from SU! for the sentiment. Those dies are really cool. The sentiment is from SU! Charming Sentiments. Here's the inside:

And yesterday was grand watching both the grandbabes!

I was reading to them and I had this deja vu moment. This ran through my mind:

That's me thirty years ago as one happy mommy to our sons Steven and Taylor. And now, look! They each have a daughter! Such blesssings!

Spring Chick

Thursday, June 1, 2023

How did it get to be June 1 already?! We get to grandparent today! Both girls at the same time. A first! It will take both of us to handle a 3 month old and a one year old! So, for today's card...

Maybe this is a subtle reminder for me! (NOT!) I am entering it in the Retro Rubber Challenge where anything goes!

My dancing chick is from SU!'s Hey Birthday Chick bundle. It's been retired for a year already! I paired it with some the retire Farmer's Market DSP  that I thought went very well with my chicken. The stitched rectangle is from the retired Stitched So Sweetly dies.

I hope you all have a fabulous Thursday.

Happy Stamping!

Love & Big Hugs

Monday, May 29, 2023

Today's card came about rather quickly and easily. Yea!

When I saw LeAnne's sketch for the Paper Players this week I was excited to get creative.

Card Details:
  • A2 card base in Basic Black
  • 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White embossed with the dotty EF from the Basics 3D EF
  • Pattern Party DSP (retired): 2" x 4-3/4"; 1-1/2" x  4-1/4"; 1" x 4"
  • Real Red heart cut with the Radiating Stitches dies; popped up with dimensionals
  • Sentiment from Sending Smiles
  • A finished it with a sprinkling of unmarked red gems from my stash
We, well, the Farmer (retired, HA! seems like all my crafting things are retired and now even in life! My husband is retired!) planted our garden this weekend.

Those white things in the field are clover hay bales!

We enjoyed a fire in our fire pit the other night and our dog, Jake, enjoyed digging in the garden dirt and then proceeded to lay in the crater he dug. So funny!

You're Absolutely Amazing!

 Saturday, May 27, 2023

My daughter-in-laws are absolutely amazing! Today's card I made for my DIL, Katie.

I'm playing along with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #414.

Those daisies and the pretty pink hues! LOVE!

My card base is Moody Mauve. I used SU!'s Cheerful Daisies bundle. I love this bundle! Seriously, you can do a lot of fun things creating with this set! My daisies are made with the dies. I used Moody Mauve, Blackberry Bliss and Basic White to create the flowers. The leaves are in Soft Seafoam. I embossed the white panel using the Ornate Floral EF (retired. I love that EF! 😅) and wrapped a piece of Metallic Edge (retired) ribbon around it. The sentiment is from SU!'s Color and Contour but cut with the die from Cheerful Daisies.

Katie is the amazing mommy to this sweet little one, Autumn Grace!

May your day be blessed with sweet smiles and Happy Stamping!

And here's the Paper Players PP641 Challenge:

Card Details:
  • A2 card base in Basic Black
  • Basic White 3-3/4" x 5-1/4"  cut the center with the 4th smallest Stitchd Rectangle die (retired) and embossed with Old World Paper EF (retired) . Adhere to card base

To Someone Special

 Thursday, May 25, 2023

Today's card makes me happy!

Bright and cheery with that sweet Newton's Nook Designs kitty! My inspiration came from Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #198 Sketch Challenge.

I changed the direction of the sketch. I'm directionally challenged but I wanted to use these strips this way!

Card Details:

  • A2 card base in SU!'s Tahitian Tide
  • My strips are from the Love & Woofs 6 x 6 paper pad (LOVE this paper pad!) They are 3/4" x 3-3/4". I adhere them to a piece of Basic white cut at 3-3/8" x 3-7/8" and then adhere that to the card base.
  • I stamped the kitty from NND's Newton's Heart stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut him out with the coordinating die. I colored him with SU! Blends in Light and Dark Gray Granite, Petal Pink, Light Basic Black, and Dark Sweet Sorbet.
  • The sentiment is from NND's Birthday Oval and stamp in SU!'s Tahitian Tide ink. I adhere the kitty with dimensionals to the card base.
I hope you can stamp something that makes you happy today!

The world needs more of you

 Wednesday, May 24, 2023

The cards I'm sharing today use more of SU!'s Bird Ballad DSP and the Free as a Bird stamp set (both retired). I was using up scraps and had a fun play with these two cards.

This first card uses Bermuda Bay (retired) for the card base. My strips of DSP are 1" x 4". Both birds are colored with SU! Blends in Light and Dark Gray Granite, Light Pool Party, Light and Dark Crumb Cake and a pinch of Light Cajun Craze for the beak.

For the second card I used Calypso Coral for the card base. I cut the sentiments out using the Stylish Shapes dies. I added a few of the Fine Sparkle Gems (retired). Easy peasy and fun! One is already in the mail!

Today is ONE special day! Our oldest granddaughter, Paisley,  turns ONE today! Honestly, I still cannot believe we are grandparents to two granddaughters! Paisley's party was Saturday. It was quite the event!

Little Miss ONE-derful with her parents.

Our sons now dads! Taylor with Autumn (who is 3 months) and Steven with Paisley! Both girls love the water. This picture makes me cry. I am so proud of these two guys and am just so thankful God chose me to be their mom. I know that sounds so cliche but it really is true! And now I'm a Gigi!

I didn't get a picture of Paisley's birthday card I made for her...ugh! But I got a photo of the sandwich board sign I decorated for her party! I used my Cricut and the Kate's ABC's cartridge for the letters and flowers.

Today's card makes me smile! Big smiles with these furry critters as the star of the project:

I'm entering it in Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #196 and it's a birthday theme challenge!

For my card I used the Heartfelt Woofs stamp set and colored those adorable puppies with SU! Blends. I used NND's Heart Frames dies that coordinate with the stamp. That cute paper is from NND Love & Woofs 6 x 6 paper pad. It all coodinates so nicely. The fun sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Measure of Love

 Wednesday, January 18, 2023

Today's card features the Heart and Home Memories and More card base. The same one I used yesterday. I made half of them with the What's Cookin' bundle and the other half with the Measure of Love stamp set.

I used the same Stitched So Sweetly dies and just used that cute scale and stamped a bowl of cherries! I colored the scale with  Light Gray Granite and Light Misty Moonlight Blends. The cherries are stamped in Sweet Sorbet.

Here is my sweet measure of love:

She was helping me make the bed! This quilt is the same color combo as my card! LOL! I love red, white and blue and anything Americana!
