Studio 1.15 Part 2

Sunday, June 21, 2020

Today brings us to Part 2 of Studio 1.15. These are the photos taken during the process of the makeover. So, this would have been right after Christmas 2014. I waited until after Christmas to clean out the room. I took EVERY THING out!

The hallway and entryway got filled with stuff! Our bedroom had stuff in it! I just piled everything up! This is the point in the makeover that it was at its worst! I then sorted and went through it all over a period of several weeks.

This shows the beginning of the closet makeover. I took the doors off the closet. I added 6 foot solid shelves. The boxes came from Ikea and I organized some of my crafting supplies in them. I still had a table or two set up in the room as I had to craft during the makeover! LOL!

The counter was installed along with a cupboard and the open spot is a pull out drawer for paper storage.

Check back next week for the third and final installment of Studio 1.15!

Tracy

Studio 1.15 Part 1

Sunday, June 14, 2020

I thought I would share my craft room story over the next few Sundays...

Studio 1.15 is just a bedroom in our home. The smallest of three bedrooms. It was the nursery for each boy when they came home from the hospital. Then it became the "school room" as we home schooled our boys through eighth grade.

When Steven and Taylor were both in public school I took over the room for my paper crafting.  These photos show what it ended up looking like before the really big makeover! It was like this for probably seven years! Well, kind of like this, I'm sure it transformed over those seven years to this mess!

At the door looking in...The closet doors are shut  here. Check out the last photo to see them opened!

YIKES! But I did get a lot of crafting done here! I used a 2' x 4' table to work on. The window is great for natural light and I had an extra stand light. I had a lot of "stuff" on the walls, also.

The closet! Another YIKES! Paper, stamp sets, punches, lots of stuff in there!

It is kind of embarrassing looking at these photos of what it was really like. Obviously, I knew I needed to change, wanted to change and was able to change! Check back next Sunday for Part 2 of Studio 1.15!

Tracy

Misty Moonlight

Saturday, June 13, 2020

Today's card features the fifth and final new In Color, Misty Moonlight. I like this color very much! I like that the DSP I used on the card reminds me of demin, which I love. I used the twill ribbon of the same color and that sweet Small Bloom punch. The sentiment is from Here's a Card. Yes, I love that set!

Here's another photo of the Farmer working at my mom's:

Magenta Madness

Friday, June 12, 2020

Today's card features my favorite new In Color Magenta Madness!

I used Magenta Madness for my card base and then punched flowers from the new In Color DSP  using the Small Bloom Punch. I added Enamel Dots in the new In Colors to complete those cute little flowers. The sentiment is from Here's a Card.  I used the Stitched so Sweetly dies to cut it out. A very fun and easy card to make.

So, it has been a full week around here. The Farmer and I have worked at my mom's place several times. Hacking and whacking trees, shrubs, and plants of all kinds.

We've looked at a wedding venue with the kids. They are still on the hunt for a venue and plan to marry in August. 2020! McKenzie and I worked together and made these fun engagement thank you cards.

Tracy

Just Jade

Thursday, June 4, 2020

Today's card features the new In Color Just Jade. I thought the black cardstock really set this color off. I used the 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon, linen thread and for the sentiment I used the Here's a Card stamp set. I added a pinch of bling with the In Color Enamel Dots in Just Jade.

I hope your week is going well. My big news is I got a haircut!!! It was so good to see my wonderful hairstylist, Sheli! I think hairdressers should be considered ESSENTIAL workers! LOL!

Tracy

Cinnamon Cider

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Who doesn't love Cinnamon Cider?!  I think a lot of you will love the new In Color, Cinnamon Cider, from Stampin' Up!

Instructions for today's card:

  • Start with an A2 card base in Cinnamon Cider
  • Using a piece of the 2020-2022 In Color DSP in Cinnamon Cider take the second largest Stitched Rectangle die and run through your die cutting machine.
  • Add a strip of the new Faux Suede trim in Early Espresso. I use scotch tape to adhere the ends to the back of the DSP. I love this new ribbon! Glue DSP rectangle to the card base.
  • Using the third smallest rectangle in the Stitched So Sweetly dies cut a coordinating piece of the Cinnamon Cider DSP.
  • Use the second smallest rectangle in the same die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Stamp your sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the sentiment from the Here's A Card stamp set. I love that stamp set!
  • Adhere the sentiment piece to the DSP. Then add a few loops of Linen Thread to the back of the DSP. Add dimensionals and adhere over the ribbon.
  • I added 3 Enamel dots in Cinnamon Cider.

Tracy

Bumblebee

Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Today's card features one of the five new Stampin' Up! In Colors, Bumblebee.

Instructions for today's card:
  • Start with a card base of Bumblebee cardstock cut at 5-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4". A Studio 1.15 tip: I always take an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and score it at 4-1/4" and cut it at 5-1/2". This way I have two card bases ready to go.

  • Using the Ornate Layers dies cut a piece of Bumblebee DSP and a piece of Whisper White cardstock in your die cutting machine. You can use the dies I chose or your choice from these awesome dies!

  • Stamp the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set. On the back of the Whisper White cardstock add a bit of adhesive on the upper middle portion. I took black metallic thread and made three loops around three of my fingers and then stuck them on the adhesive. This has become a bit of a signature element for me. Sadly, SU! will not be carrying any metallic thread in the new '20-'21 catalog. You can use baker's twine or the linen thread also.

  • Adhere the DSP with Tombow liquid glue to your card base.

  • Adhere your sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals to the DSP.

  • Using the Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham ribbon make a bow and adhere it to the Whisper White piece using a glue dot.

  • Add an Enamel Dot in Bumblee to the "i" in Friend.

Tracy
