You're the Cat's Meow!

 Thursday, March 31, 2022

Today's card features the SU! 2020-2022 In Colors (4 of the 5!) that will be retiring May 2. It's always bittersweet saying goodbye to the retiring In Colors. Here's today's card:

I flipped the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday 548 and went with something puny also!

  • 4-1/4" x 11" Cinnamon Cider cardbase
  • 2020-2022 In Color 6" x 6" DSP: Bumblebee 4" x 4"; Misty Moonlight 2" x 4"; adhere pieces together and add a strip of Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham Ribbon; adhere to card base
  • Stamp cat from Nine Lives (retired) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Stamp with second stamp in Cajun Craze. Use Cat Punch to punch out and also punch a cat from Basic Black. Adhere cats together as shown to create a shadow. Adhere with dimensionals to card base.

Sunshine and Rainbows!

 Wednesday, March 30, 2022

Who doesn't love sunshine and rainbows?! We have been having some sunshine here and a rainbow pops out from time to time also! I love both!

Today's card is one I made for this week's Paper Players Sketch Challenge #584. Here's the card:

And here's the challenge:

Card Details:

  • 4-1/4" x 11" Basic White card base
  • Magenta Madness 4-1/8" x 5-7/8"
  • Sunshine and Rainbows DSP (retired) 3 strips cut at 1-5/8" x 3-7/8"; adhere to Magenta Madness
  • Bermuda Bay 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon (retired) adhere around DSP/Magenta Madness piece
  • Adhere Magenta Madness piece to card base with dimensionals
  • Fussy cut a rainbow from the DSP; adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp sentiment from Honeybee Home Stamp set in Magenta Madness onto Basic White. I used a die from the retired SU! Project Life Cards and Labels dies ( Wow! that's an old set! Still love them!) to cut the sentiment out.
  • I added some metallic gold thread (from JoAnn's) behind the sentiment and attached it to the card.
  • Add 3 Iridescent Rhinestones
I hope there are sunshine and rainbows in your life today!
Happy Stamping!

Spring Break '22

 Tuesday, March 29, 2022

Last week was Spring Break and for the first time we actually went somewhere for Spring Break! Normally the Farmer would be farming but now that he is retired our schedule is open. We spent the week in Bend, Oregon with our oldest son, Steven, and his wife, McKenzie and her family. There were 10 of us all together. It was a wonderful week! Here are a few highlights:

Dinner with the group. We took turns cooking. This was one of my nights...ham dinner!

The "kids" in the kitchen cooking!

The Farmer, Jake and I on one of our many hikes. This was at the Sunriver Resort. We walked and walked and walked all over this place...not knowing how to get back to the "start"! LOL!  I asked a group of people (finally) for help and the "Grandma" in the group had a map! Yea! for Grandma being prepared with a map!

Benham Falls. This was my favorite hike. We continued hiking along the Deschutes River. It was beautiful!

Tumalo Falls
This was quite a hike. Normally you could drive to the falls, walk a 1/4 of a mile to the top of the falls and then continue hiking. Not this time! The road was closed and we walked 2-1/2 miles to the falls. No problem...well, this is what covered some of the road:

Yep, snow that was basically ice! We found a way through by walking in the forest where there was no snow or ice.

The last night we had a wonderful campfire in the backyard where we were staying! It was a beautiful evening. We roasted marshmellows and made s'mores and had a delightful time singing some fun campfire songs!

Be back soon with some stamping projects!
Until then...
Happy Stamping!

Forever Blossoms

 Saturday,  March 5, 2022

Today's cards came from inspiration I found while sorting and organizing some cards into my scrapbook. I came across this card:

My SU! Upline and friend, Teresa Harper at KnT Designs made this for me. Don't you love it? It inspired me to use the Basic Borders dies that she gave me! So, here are the cards I made:

The card base for the first one is Polished Pink. DSP is Pattern Party. I used the Forever Blossoms stamp set and die cut the sentiment using the Well Said dies (retired). I matted it on Basic Black and fussy cut around it. I added Iridescent Rhinestones.

The second card uses a Magenta Madness card base. DSP from Pattern Party and I added Opal Rounds (retired).

This last card I think is my favorite although I do like the pink and black color combination of the first two.
The card base is Flirty Flamingo with the Pattern Party DSP. I added the Brushed Brass Butterflies.
Do you have a favorite?

These cards are going to three new members of our church. I don't think I've ever made new member cards before...and we have had new members! LOL! But these three newbies are crafters!!! So I wanted to encourage them to join our monthly crafting group that meets at our church!

Happy Stamping!
