Nuts About You!

 Monday, April 4, 2022

Today's card is for the SUO Challenge 298 with the theme of animals or critters. This card idea actually came from a make-n-take my upline, Teresa Harper at KnT Designs did at our monthly crop. The project was a box.

Is this just the cutest? I made a dozen of them and changed the colors for our spring break trip. I used them as table favors on one of the nights I cooked dinner. Everyone loved them! The box fits a Nutty Buddy! How fun is that! So, anyway, back to my card...I had some supplies left over and made a birthday card!

Card Details:

  • Early Espresso card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" score at 4-1/4"
  • In Good Taste DSP 2" x 5-1/2" adhere to center of card base
  • Heart and Home Doilies adhere to center of DSP
  • Balmy Blue cut with Hippo and Friends die; emboss with Tasteful Textile EF that has been inked with Misty Moonlight; adhere to doily
  • Using the Heart Punch Pack punch a scalloped heart from Basic White and a regular heart from Real Red. Emboss the Real Red heart with the Hive EF. Adhere together and adhere to Balmy Blue piece.
  • Using the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set stamp the squirrel outline in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used Smoky Slate for the squirrel color. The acorn top is Cinnamon Cider and the acorn is Crumb Cake. This stamp set is a two step stamp and it works great to fill in your image!
  • Cut a branch from the Iconic dies in Early Espressro. Adhere to the heart.
  • Add dimensionals to the squirrel and adhere so he is sitting on the branch.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Real Red. I used a retired banner die to cut it out but you could snip the ends.
  • Adhere 3 Rhinestones to complete the card.
Happy Stamping!
Tracy
