Christmas Card Throwdown

 March 31, 2021

I wanted to play along with the  52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week. The challenge is a "stash" challenge using wood background.  I love using wood DSP.  My card is another clean and simple one using the Rustic Retreat stamp set.

I stamped the image using Early Espresso and the sentiment using Memento Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut it out using the Layering Squares dies. I added a few loops of linen thread and mounted it with dimensionals to the card front. I used Shaded Spruce for my card base.

Happy Stamping!

Hey Chick!

 March 31, 2021

Well, it is the last day of March and this month has been unseasonable cold here where I live in Oregon! The sun is shining this week and hopefully it will be warmer today!

For today's card I am using this sketch from the Paper Players:

I used the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and the Flowers for Every Season DSP and came up with this card:

Our women's ministry group at church is affectionately called the "Church Chix".  I absolutely love this stamp set and the Hey Chick stamp set and am making birthday cards for the women with them this year! So fun!

And just for fun here is Jake soaking up some sun? Or maybe he is cooling off?  I guess the concrete step was more comfy than is pillow bed! Lol!

Timeless Tulips

 March 29, 2021

Do you have tulips in your garden? We may have one or two later this spring. The ones we have don't seem to be growing too well yet. I tell people I am married to a farmer not a gardener! There is a big difference! And I am not a gardener either! So flowers don't do so well around here.

For today's cards I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set with the coordinating punch. I started with a sympathy card. Another clean and simple layout. I used Blackberry Bliss for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the stem and leaves. All was mounted onto a Blackberry Bliss card base.

The next card I stamped the tulips in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the Blackberry Bliss Oh So Ombre DSP. I then stamped the stems and leaves in Granny Apple Green onto the same colored Oh So Ombre DSP. The card base is Blackberry Bliss.

The next card I stamped with Rococo Rose ink onto the Rococo Rose Oh So Ombre DSP. I mounted the tulips onto the Bermuda Bay DSP. The card base Rococo Rose.

You can kind of see my trend here! I did this one with Bermuda Bay ink onto the Bermuda Bay Oh So Ombre DSP and mounted them on the Blackberry Bliss Oh So Ombre DSP.  The card base is Bermuda Bay.

The options and color choices could go on and on. Mix and match and find your favorite. I think I like them all! They will be in the mail very soon!

Grandchildren

March 25, 2021

Today's card is another clean and simple design. I used Stampin' Up!'s Treasures of Life and stamped the image and sentiment in Memento Black ink. I matted one on Night of Navy and the other on Blushing Bride.

I have a friend who is expecting her first grandchild any day. A boy! I made these with her in mind. I don't have grandchildren yet! Maybe someday. Now that Son #1 is married and Son #2 will be married May 15 I am beginning to occasionally think about grandchildren!

Happy Stampin'!

You Are So Special

 March 24, 2021

Today's card is for the Global Design Project: #GDP284

And here is my card:

I used the In Good Taste DSP (I love that paper) and the Tasteful Touches stamp set. I stamped the flower in Crumb Cake onto some of the lighter colored DSP in the set. It definitely gave it some texture.  I added some linen thread and a couple acrylic gems which I'm not sure even show up in the photo.

Happy Stamping!

A Love Bunny

 March 23, 2021

Retro Rubber Challenge #154  Anything Goes!

I am loving doing some clean and simple card making! It feels like spring cleaning. LOL! For the Retro Rubber Challenge I chose to use Stampin' Up!'s Garden Girl and Hanging Garden stamp sets. I don't know how old they are. Over 3 years at least. I love them because all the images can be colored and I love coloring!

I colored this little bunny with the Gray Granite and Petal Pink Blends. Matted him on a stitched square of Petal Pink cardstock and added a few loops of black metallic thread and popped it onto the Thick Basic White card base. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink right onto the card base. Sweet.Simple.Clean.

Happy Stamping!

Kangaroo & Company

The Paper Players Challenge PP533
Tuesday, March 23, 2021

This week's  Paper Players is a Clean and Simple Challenge using animals!

I had to ink up this adorable kangaroo from Stampin' Up!'s Kangaroo & Company bundle. I stamped her on Cinnamon Cider with Memento Black ink.  The bouquet is stamped in Memento Black ink and then I colored it using the SU! Blends in Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, and Petal Pink. Everything went on a Blushing Bride card base.  What a fun and quick card!

It is Spring Break here in Oregon which means very little to us since we don't have children in school.  The Farmer is trying to get fields fertilized in between rain showers!

Enjoy your day!
