Paisley Mae!

Tuesday, May 31, 2022

One week ago today, May 24, our first grandchild was born! A little girl named Paisley Mae!

She arrived just before dawn bringing with her a ray of sunshine to our hearts! She weighed just 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20.5 inches long! And yes, that is all her hair! Her daddy had just the same amount of dark hair when he was born! Here is a picture of him at his birth:

Pretty amazing! Their hair is alike but they look differently! Steven was funny looking ( in a good way!) Paisley is downright beautiful!

We are over the moon in love with this little girl! I'm enjoying sitting with her while Mom and Dad get some extra naps in!

She's a keeper!

Happy Stamping!

Pretty Prints

 Monday, May 30, 2022

Today's card uses the the Pretty Prints DSP which I used on last Monday's post. You can see those cards here.  Here's today's card:

Summer Shadows

 Wednesday, May 25, 2022

Today's card continues with the Shaded Summer bundle which isn't available as a bundle but you can purchase the stamp set and dies separately and they go together!

I didn't use the stamp set for this card. Just the Summer Shadows dies! I really like the dies too! I think they are a hidden gem in the catalog! I made this card for our monthly crop's color challenge. The color challenge is to use Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia and Parakeet Party! Fun! The layout is the same as the cards I showed you on Monday I just changed the focal image and sentiment.

Card Details:

  • Basic White note cards and envelopes
  • Heart and Home DSP  3-1/2" x 5" adhere to card base
  • Basic Black 2-5/8" x 4-5/8"
  • Heart and Home DSP 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" Stamp sentiment from Peaceful Moments. I used the Stamparatus for a near perfect placement. Adhere to Basic Black mat. Add a piece of coordinating ribbon. Adhere to card base.
  • Cut flower using the Summer Shadows dies from Fresh Freesia and flower outline from Blackberry Bliss. Adhere together.
  • Cut leaves from Parakeet Party. Adhere together. Dry fit pieces to the card then adhere leaves with glue and add a dimensional to the flower and adhere.
  • In this photo I had forgotten to add my Rhinestones! Add one to the center of the flower and scatter a few around the card!
We planted a small garden this year. The retired Farmer wants to try his hand at gardening again. I am NOT a gardener! I love the harvest but not so much the tilling and sowing!

Shaded Summer

 Monday, May 23, 2022

I wasn't sure I'd like the Shaded Summer stamp set...even though I really liked it and the sentiments and the font. I know that doesn't make sense. But I wasn't sure about how I would like what is suppose to be green foliage in the color of the flowers or black or whatever color you stamp it in. I guess I thought I had "issues" with that. Um, I don't! Take a look at today's cards:

Rich Razzleberry

                       Calypso Coral

Coastal Cabana

Soft Succulent

I used a monotone color pallet and love it! LOL! The color name below each card is the color I stamped the image in. Here are the card details:

  • Basic White note cards and envelopes
  • Pretty Prints DSP 3-1/2" x 5" adhere to card base
  • Basic Black 2-5/8" x 4-5/8"
  • Heart and Home DSP 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" adhere to Basic Black cardstock. Add a piece of coordinating ribbon.
  • Basic White 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" stamp flower image from the SU! Shaded Summer stamp set onto this piece. I used the Stamparatus to get a good image. Then cut image using the Summer Shadows dies and the SU! Cut & Emboss Machine. Adhere to card base with dimensionals.
  • From a scrap of the Heart and Home DSP cut banner from the Stylish Shapes dies. (LOVE these dies!) Stamp image from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. Cut another banner from Basic Black cardstock. Cut the Basic Black banner in half. Adhere sentiment piece to it to achieve a mat. Add some metallic thread (mine is from JoAnn's) to the back and adhere with dimensionals to card base.
  • Complete card with 3 rhinestones.
So fun and easy to make multiples which I did! The Pretty Prints DSP is so fun with all the coordinating colors! Check it out and see what you think!

We are waiting patiently, well, maybe a bit anxiously, for the arrival of our first grandchild! A little girl whose due date is tomorrow. I'm already emotional! I waffle between tears and smiles! I'll keep you posted! Until then...
Happy Stamping!
